JM: When did you get started crocheting?

KELLY: I started crocheting when I was a young girl, probably around 10 or 11. My mom & my grandmother both taught me how and they are both still crocheting to this day. I started actively crocheting again when I was pregnant with my daughter.

JM: What are your favorite types of yarn to work with?

KELLY: I love all of the novelty yarns that are available now. Chenille is probably my all time favorite, but I also LOVE metallics. They are so girlie and are total eye candy!

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay?

KELLY: I started selling my designs on eBay over 3 years ago. When Liv was 2 yrs old, we joined a playgroup. She would wear the things that I had crocheted to play dates and the other moms would go crazy. They started offering to buy things right off her back and suggested that I start selling my work. That's when I knew I was on to something and I've been "hooked" on designing/selling since then. I choose to sell all of my designs exclusively on eBay.

What did you do before eBay?

KELLY:I was an IT Project Manager for a large mortgage company in Philadelphia, PA.

JM: Do you remember the first item you sold on eBay? How much did it sell for?

KELLY: I started off by selling hair flowers and hats on eBay in 2003. The first set that I sold was a crocheted halter top set that sold for around $40.00.

JM: How did come up with your name, Daisy Krazy?

KELLY: One of the first yarn tools that I leaned to use when I was a child, was a vintage "Crazy Daisy Winder". It's shaped like a wagon wheel and you wrap yarn around the "spokes" of the wheel. It's a tool that knitters and crocheters use to create flowers. To me, it represented my childhood love of crocheting and yarn.

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

KELLY: I am so proud to be a member of Head2Heels (H2H) Boutique. My group mates are THE most talented and sweetest bunch of girls on eBay. I've also been a member of M2MA (Made 2 Match Accessories) for the past 2 years. They are another fabulous group of fun ladies and friends.

JM: What is your favorite thing to create?

KELLY: I LOVE to crochet accessories. I really enjoy being able to put lots of details into smaller projects like hats and flip flops. I also love to collaborate on designer projects and match different clothing lines.

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

KELLY: I would love to learn how to knit better! Right now, I can basically knit a scarf, but that's it. I'm so used to crocheting, that knitting feels like trying to learn a whole new language.

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

KELLY:Anywhere in Europe!

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides creating?

KELLY: I enjoy photography, gardening, going to flea markets & antique hunting. I also enjoy working on restoring our 1876 Victorian home (stop by my house on a Saturday and you will see me on a ladder w/ a paintbrush in my hand!).

JM: Anything else you would like to add?

KELLY:First, I would like to thank my beautiful daughter, Liv, for all of her help & support in our "little" business together, Daisy Krazy Original Designs. We have really enjoyed spending this time together. I'd like to thank my husband for all of his love, advice and constant support in all that I do. I'd also like to thank my best friend, Megan. The only other person I know who has the same passion for eBay that I do! Ebay (and life!) just wouldn't be the same without you! And a huge "Thank You" to all of my wonderful customers! With the recent birth of my son, I have been receiving the sweetest notes from customers all around the world. I truly have the best buyers on all of eBay!
