JM: Christina, when did your interest in creating jewelry start?

CHRISTINA: When I was 6 years old. My neighborhood friends Pam, Anjali, and I all collected beads. I did more trading of beads than actually creating jewelry. The coveted bead was the red ruby bead. We used to trade up to 50 beads just to possess that one red ruby bead. I still have it. :)

JM:How did you learn?

CHRISTINA:I just figure everything out by myself. I suppose that makes me self taught. :)

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay and do you sell anywhere else besides eBay?

CHRISTINA:I started selling on ebay about 3 years ago. I do sell jewelry on my website at and some local art shows.

JM: Do you remember the first item you sold on eBay?

CHRISTINA: I believe it was a charm necklace with vintage flower beaded charms. I can't remember how much it sold for.

JM: Where did come up with your name?

CHRISTINA: Well, I had just started staying at home with my daughter Grace. Hence the name grace-at-home.

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

CHRISTINA: I do! The HelloCollection and this past year M2MA. I actually started the Hellocollection with my dear friends Tricia and Shari. I just joined M2MA this year. I really love both groups for the same reasons. All of the members are down to earth, easy going, and friendly women. I just love it when women can all get along so well. That is the way it should be! well meshed and I like how we all fit with our ideas, shared interests and high standards for quality and service to our customers.

JM: What are your favorite materials to work with?

CHRISTINA: I love to use sterling silver or gold filled wire in my designs. Some more of my favorite things are vintage beads, flower beads, high quality briolette gemstones, and artisan created lampwork beads. I love one of a kind artisan made pendants and beads!

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

CHRISTINA: I want to learn to create my own silver pieces and to solder! Gosh, I just thi would allow me create more of what I see in my head. And I see lots of jewelry in my head! lol!

JM: Can you tell us about your first job? How much did you earn?

CHRISTINA: My first job was teaching ballet to 4 and 5 year olds. I was in a ballet company in high school and I was always in the studio. So, I'd teach ballet in between rehearsals. I would periodically ask if anyone had questions. They would ask silly questions like, "What is your favorite color Miss Christina?" Silly kiddos.

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides making fabulous jewelry?

CHRISTINA: Too much! I need to add a couple of days to my week just so I can pursue all of my hobbies. I love knitting, sewing, scrapbooking, card making, clothing design, shopping, photography, rubber stamping, fabric shopping, fashion... I'm sure there is more that I'm leaving out. I crave creativity. When I haven't been able to sit down and make something in a while I get twitchy. lol!

Most of all I love watching my kids do what they love the most. For Grace it is art and horses. For Christian it is pretending he is Darth Vader. lol I love it when they are being creative and having fun (and not fighting). I love watching my husband just be silly with my kids. He is a wonderful Dad (when there's no football on tv). :)

JM: Anything else you would like to add?

CHRISTINA: Thanks for reading this far! lol!

I seriously need a 12 step program when it comes to your jewelry. My heavens, it's little pieces of art and I'm so thrilled every time I get a new piece. I'll be your devoted customer until the beads run out. Knock on wood THAT never happens. :)
