1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

I started after Makayla was born. I had always wanted to learn and take sewing classes but never did get around to it. For my baby shower the girls at my workplace all chipped in and bought me a sewing machine as I had been talking about wanting to learn forever. it was the best gift I have ever recieved! I started out making curtains, pillow covers and other various items for the house. One day I went out and bought a halter pattern to try out, I was hooked and haven't stopped since! I am self taught, I have a wonderful friend who sews and if I ever had a question or needed help she was always there to answer.

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I started selling in July 2004. Right now Ebay is the only place to find my designs. I will also be listing on Blossom street very soon. I also work p/t outside the home as a Nurse, design is definitly my real passion though.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

Yes! It was a 3 piece halter/denim set done in red/white polka dots and Michael Miller's "Astro Kids" fabric. It sold for 42.50 and I was thrilled! I was hooked.

3. How did you decide upon your name .

Little Moonkey is our pet name for our daughter. I was so happy it wasn't taken!

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

Yes! I'm a proud member of the YaYas. I got invited to join in October 2004. I love my group, they are such a wonderful, supportive and extremely talented group of Ladies (and Chuck!) They inspire me to try new things and are always so encouraging.

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

I love trying all sorts or new and different designs! My favorite as of late would probably be One of a Kind Euro patchwork type sets with tons of ruffle insets, great color combintations and various trims. I usually pair them with appliqued tee's or if it's a dress an appliqued bodice.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers? Why?

I love bright, bold, whimsical prints, Polka Dots, stripes, Retro prints, florals, vintage finds... oh I could go on forever lol! I love fabric and I have a ton of it! A few of my favorite fabric designers are Michael Miller, Alexander Henry and Jane Sassaman.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

Ummmm... Fabric covering the floor! My sewing room is downstairs and when I'm creating I'm definitly not the neatest, when I am working on something, I'm not worrying about putting each scrap of fabric in the trash, it usually goes over my shoulder. After a project is completed everything is cleaned up and put back in its place, I have to start each new project with a perfectly clean and organized room.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

I love spending time with my family and friends. Going to the movies, reading, rollerblading, going to hockey games (huge hockey fan!) and of course shopping!

9. Anything else you would like to add?

I just want to thank for my family and friends for all being my number one fans:) My group for their inspiration and friendship. Thanks JM for the opportunity to do this interview. And last but definitely not least my AMAZING customers, you are the best and it has been so nice getting to know you and being able to dress your beautiful children!
