JM: When did you get started sewing and creating?

CHRISTINA: I started sewing when I was in my teens. Mostly sewing by hand. But I do have fond memories of my mother with her sewing machine. I remember her letting me cut out her fabric pieces after she pinned the patterns to them. My husband bought me a sewing machine when I was pregnant with our daughter. I was so excited! I started out making blankets. Then I delved into applique, then onto making my own jeans and tees, and I've been going strong ever since!

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay?

CHRISTINA: I started in the fall of 2005. I also just opened up a shop on Etsy. Before ebay, I was a SAHM. Before that, I was a banker :)

JM: Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay?

CHRISTINA: I do remember! I sold a 4 piece fireman set to the sweetest buyer! I don't remember what is sold for.

JM: How did come up with your name, Abby Lane?

CHRISTINA: Well, since Abby was the reason I started sewing in the first place, I decided I wanted her name in my title. I played around with a few things, and Abby*Lane is the one I liked the most. Funny since I mostly sew boys clothing!

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

CHRISTINA: I am in the most fabulous group, LimeVine. . By far the sweetest ladies I have ever met! Andrea, from FleurL'Enfant approached me about it, and I knew instantly that it was the right fit for me!

JM: Do you have a favorite item to create?

CHRISTINA:By far, I love making knit tees. They are so soft, and have endless possiblities! Applique, funky designs. I can't get enough.

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

CHRISTINA: I'd love to learn more about designing for girls. I was a mom of only boys for 13 years. So boys are what I know. I'm very new to ruffles and pleats. lol!

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

CHRISTINA: I have always wanted to travel to Europe!

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

CHRISTINA:I love spending time with my family. Pretty much anything we do together is fun for me!

JM: Anything else you would like to add?

CHRISTINA: Thank you so much Amy for this wonderful opportunity! I appreciate it so much, and am very flattered!!
