JM: Heather, when did you get started sewing and creating?

HEATHER: I started sewing in Jr. High after I found my Mom's old Sears sewing machine (that she never used, but stored in my closet). I asked her if I could "play" around with it and she said sure. I would find (cheap) clothes that had potential and cut them up and see what I could do different with them. Often times I would just ruin them because I really had no clue what I was doing, but once in awhile they turned out pretty awesome! This love of design continued into college where I majored in Clothing and Design. I received my BS from The Master's College and actually learned "how to sew".

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay?

HEATHER:I started selling my designs on EBay about 1 year ago. I also make wedding gowns and formal wear off EBay. Before EBay I taught high school for 2 yrs. and then worked in Hollywood as a costume designer, then quit to stay home with my children.

I also am selling through an online boutique

JM: Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay?

HEATHER:I sold a floral dress with Norfolk Rose fabric, it sold for about $55.

JM: How did come up with your name,

HEATHER:My mom always calls my daughters Miss Madison or Miss Elise - so I combined the two - Miss Me Boutique. However I am starting to branch out off eBay and there is already a clothing company called MissMe, so I changed my Id to

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

HEATHER: I belong to the Uptowngirls. . I was flying solo for a bit when our fearless leader (nelsonmum) contacted me and asked if I would like to join the group. I love the tightness and friendships we have there, and the fun! I also belong to Boutique Eden, a newer group, comprised of newer designers on EBay, we do launches every 3 months.

JM: Do you have a favorite item to create?

HEATHER: I love to make girls outfits from vintage fabrics; I think they add so much to the design. I'm always saying don't give that away... that could make an awesome dress!

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

HEATHER: I love trying to figure new things out and pushing myself to be better. I'm always learning new skills because styles and trends change so much!

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

HEATHER: Anywhere there is warm water and a beach, and I could travel via a cruise :)

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

HEATHER: I enjoy scrap booking and swimming.
