See Rachel's current eBay auctions: Doce*Menina

JM: When did you get started sewing and creating?

RACHEL:My mom taught me how to sew when I was just a little girl. I started sewing for real when my daughter Tessa was a baby but didn't have the time to devote to it fully. I found a true passion for it last year when I had my youngest daughter Rachel. She is the perfect model and I love, love, love making things for her!

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay?

RACHEL: I started selling on ebay just a few months ago. Ive never sold any of my creations anywhere else, I wouldnt even know where to begin with that! Before I started selling on ebay I was busy homeschooling my two oldest kids, and taking care of the house and nursing my obsession for Starbucks!!! lol

JM: Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay?

RACHEL: I do remember the first outfit, mostly because It was only a few months ago lol. It was a beach outfit made out of blue and chocolate hawaiian fabric, it was soooo cute! It sold for about 50 dollars. I was so excited!

JM: How did come up with your name?

RACHEL: Well I wanted it to be unique, and I always loved other languages. I decided to choose a language that sounded really romantic, so i chose portuguese. My name means Sweet Girl which is what I call my baby girl.

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

RACHEL:I belong to the boutique group Dolly Lane. I was invited to join the group by one of the leaders who had seen my creations, she really liked them so she sent my an invite. My favorite thing about my group is how encouraging everyone is, we are a solid group that really has alot of fun together! I love it!

JM: Do you have a favorite item to create?

RACHEL: I find that I enjoy everything I make so far, the more I learn the more new things ive been trying. I guess if I had to choose though....it would be the swing tops, they look so fabulously cute on my little girl.

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

RACHEL: I've been wanting to learn how to use a ruffler, for the life of me I can't figure it out. I make the ruffles by hand and it would be so much easier the other way! lol

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

RACHEL: I've traveled to alot of places...but I would love to go to Australia one day. I love the accents.

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

RACHEL:I really enjoy taking my kids to do stuff. They get so excited over new things and it's so much fun to watch. I also enjoy very much going on dates with my husband to be, we have such a fabulous time together. I enjoy quiet time, and reading, and going to church as well. My all time favorite thing to do though, is going to starbucks!

JM: Anything else you would like to add?

RACHEL: I would like to thank you for this chance to be featured...I'm very honored. You guys do such a great job, I love coming on here every day and looking at whats new!! Keep up the good work!
