JM: When did you get started sewing and creating?

ANDREA: About 12 years ago. My mom taught me how to sew when we bought our first home. I learned how to make gorgeous window treatments on a budget. Grewing up my mom was always sewing and creating the most beautiful things. I honestly had no desire to sew then but once I learned how to make window treatments ~ I realized I really enjoyed it. Then, when my first daughter was born, I discovered children’s boutique clothing and started making her little dresses using vintage chenille.

Over time I began taking orders locally and then last year decided to start selling on Ebay. I very rarely work with chenille anymore but I still take most of my inspiration from something vintage….a button, lace or sweet linen.

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay?

ANDREA: Early 2006. I have a website: that I started in January 2006.

JM: Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay?

ANDREA: It was a vintage chenille dress & hat set. The first set that sold on ebay was called Simply Vintage and I think it sold for $68

JM: How did come up with your name, Fleur L’enfant?

ANDREA: The first sets I began selling locally were from my Vintage Daisy line ~ very flowery and fun. I am French and thought flower child in French fit perfectly so that’s how I came up with Fleur L’enfant.

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

ANDREA: I belong to LimeViine. I was invited into the group when they were forming by a sweet friend of mine ~ Eva. We are all friends and truly supportive of one another. I really feel at home in LimeVine and couldn’t be happier.

JM: Do you have a favorite item to create?

ANDREA:OOAK’s using vintage fabrics and trimmings I find at local antique shows. I love that these fabrics are truly unique and have a warmth about them.

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

ANDREA: I would love to continue taking courses in watercolor and mural painting. I stopped taking art classes when I started selling on my website and ebay. I find painting so relaxing and fun and I was able to paint my a mural in my son’s room ~ but I would love to be able to paint anything. My son would love Fenway park on his bedroom walls now.

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

ANDREA: I would love to travel to Iceland. We have some wonderful friends we met in college who live there and want us to come out and visit.

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

ANDREA: Spending the summer at the beach with my family and scouring antique markets for gorgeous vintage linens.

JM: Anything else you would like to add?

ANDREA:Thank you Amy for inviting me this week ~ I have been a member of JM since I began selling on ebay and love your website. Thank you LimeVine for being so sweet and supportive and a big thank you to all of my buyers!!! I couldn’t do this without the support of my loving husband and children. Especially my little one who puts up with me and my camera.
