1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

That is really hard for me to determine, I learned the most basic things like sewing a button on or mending clothes at a very young age only out of necessity. My sister and I were both raised by my father so whenever we needed something fixed, I would just try figure out how to fix it...being that I was the oldest. I guess I really became more enthusiastic about sewing after my oldest daugher Morgan was born. I loved sewing for her as a baby and I can't imagine living without a sewing machine...I feel as though sewing gives me somewhat of a purpose:0).

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

Before Ebay, I rented a booth that I set up monthly at a local craft show. I did this for about two years. There I sold appliqued jumper dresses with the matching pantaloons and hairbows for girls and appliqued jon jons for little boys...matching brother and sister sets. While I was set up there, I met the owners of two children’s clothing stores. They both had approached me about making items for them to sell exclusively in their stores. It basically came down to them having something specific in mind that they wanted made and they really just needed a seamstress to bring it to life. That is something that I really enjoyed at first, but after about a year and a half I grew tired of making the same exact thing over and over again. In the meantime, I had ran across Ebay and I decided to offer something that I made on Ebay and I loved it because it was something I could be much more creative with.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

Yes, I do remember...though I don’t still have the pictures. It was a dress, hat, and pantaloons set made from baby blue chenille and lavender and baby blue tye dyed batik, I think it sold for around $50.00.

3. How did you decide upon your name .

In MoMo’s....Mo is for Morgan and Mo is for Molly Anne....pronounced MowMows.

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

I belong to Act1 and the thing I love most about it is how sweet this wonderful bunch of ladies is. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to group with them and I adore each one of them.

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

My favorite thing to make for my two girls is that is what I usually offer to my customers. I love timeless clothing....and I love quilts and classic quilting techniques. I love to incorporate those techniques in my clothing as well. The older that both of my girls get, the harder it is for me to find the style of dresses that I like, so I really enjoy making dresses for that they still look like the little girls that they are.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers? Why?

There is probably not any fabric that I wouldn't like working with, but as far as a favorite...I guess I would have to say any type of quilting floral fabrics. I just love the shabby look to a beautiful floral print. I enjoy using any prints from all of the famous fabric designers.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

I do most all of my sewing in my sewing room during the day while my girls are at school, every now and then I will stay up late if I have something I really need to do. I am kind of a neat freak so it is always pretty clean in there. I have a hard time concentrating if things get shuffled around a lot.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and girls. They keep me busy most of the time:0).

9.Anything else you would like to add?

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for allowing me to be featured and I would also like to thank my sweet customers for their continued support. I am so grateful to be able to do what I love and I realize without them, I wouldn't be able to do that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart:0).
