1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

I have a family history of seamstresses! From my great-grandmother, my mom, my aunts, cousins ... lol... we are a very "crafty family" :) My mom owned her own business selling appliqued items in the 80's so I grew up in the business of doing shows. Even as a young child I would do cross stitching and other things that I was able to sell. I learned a lot from my mom's business and apply a lot of what I learned to my own business today.

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I've been selling my designs on ebay for about 3 1/2 years now. I currently only sell on ebay because I enjoy the freedom of making different sets... I don't really like making the same thing over and over.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

The first outfit I sold on ebay was for a custom little black dress number..... I wish I still had the pictures of Ashley in it when she was super tiny, but my computer crashed and I lost everything... However... I still have the original dress (for memories) and took a snapshot of what it looked like.

3. How did you decide upon your name?

Two Peas And A Princess is named after my 3 little ones..... I wanted something with a whimsical flair but had meaning :)

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

belong to the boutique group called Act1. How did I get started in this group? Well, I ask myself that same question everyday! I'm so proud to be among such a talented group of women, and the best thing I like about this group is the close friendships I have with so many of these girls. They are all smart, talented and super sweet.... I can't think of a better place to be!

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

Anything that involves denim is my favorite.... lol. I guess that is because I *live* in my jeans!!

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

OMGosh...lol.... I don't think I've met a fabric I haven't liked yet! J/K..... My styles vary depending on the moods I'm in.... I adore everything from shabby rose prints to bright and bold prints, but the one thing I make sure of is that it is a high quality, good weight cotton print.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

I do all of my sewing in my upstairs loft, and I sew on and off all day & night.... Ashley starts Pre-K this coming August, so hopefully I'll be able to have block of time I can use for just sewing without interruption ~a girl can dream right?~ The girls in my group always tease me because I am so organized, but when I'm really into a project... fabric is tossed everywhere...... BUT----- before I can start anything new, everything has to be put back and organized again.....

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

I love to plant flowers.... I can't get enough of them, so I'm always trying to plant something new. I also love to go to yard sales/flea markets/ antique stores in search of goodies! Shopping of course makes the top 5, and also home decorating. Whatever I'm doing, I try to spend as much time with my hubby Phil.... after all, I think the key to life is to enjoy it, and I don't know of any other person I'd rather enjoy it with.

Anything else you would like to add?

Yes! I would like to give a great big, sincere THANK YOU to all of the designers who have over the last 2 years participated in the annual October Breast Cancer Auctions! Together we have been able to donate over $25,000 to breast cancer research. Without the kindness of each one of you, this event would not be a success, and the many, MANY friendships I have made doing this truly brings tears to my eyes! This event began in support of my mom, a breast cancer survivor, and then last year, I had to undergo a benign biopsy at the same time we were running the BCA auctions. I can not begin to express my gratitude for the love and support you all have given me! This event truly holds a special place in my heart & I look forward to working with everyone again this October and if you haven't had a chance to participate yet, PLEASE drop me a line at: twopeasandaprincess@comcast.net and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction for more information!
