JM: Jen, when did you get started sewing and creating?

JEN: I started sewing about 4 years ago. I purchased my sewing machine and didn't even know how to thread it! I have sewn almost everyday since :) Technical books were my best friends!

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay?

JEN:I started designing to sell on e-bay about 2 years ago. I resold a couple items I had made for the kids and thought, hey this is fun! The past year I have branched out in creativity and began making some of my own patterns.

JM: Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay?

JEN: Hmmmm, I think it was a 2 piece girls set in a fruit print! I lost most of my old pictures in a computer mishap but I think it sold for $30 plus shipping!

JM: How did come up with your name, redwagon?

JEN:It came to me in a dream.... I did a poll that next day on one of the design boards to help me pick and listed it as one of the choices. It was a hit! :) Prior to that I was jln0202 for several years

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

JEN: Yes, I am an Uptowngirl It is the only group I have been a part of. I felt it was important to make a name for myself prior to joining a group. I passed on several great offers because I didn't feel they came at a point where I could devote myself fully. When the invitation came from the uptowngirls, it felt so right! I have never regretted my decision, they are an amazing group of women both in talent and heart!

JM: Do you have a favorite item to create?

JEN: Boys casual wear! I love designing trendy sets that I know are being worn and enjoyed over and over!

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

JEN:Hmmmm, I'd love to try pintucks and practice more on shirring! I bought a ruffle foot for my sewing machine a few months back and I need to try it out as well, I am still an old fashion stitch and pull gal!

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

I have had a dream of visiting Ireland since I was a small girl. I am not irish, lol, but I have been intrigued by the culture and land for many years.

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

JEN: I love to read and cook when time permits! In the summer we go boating and water skiing and it is great to spend that family time together. I'm an RN (Registered Nurse) in my spare time...2 days a week :)

It still boggles my mind to read that you have only being sewing for 4 years! I've seen your work in person, and your quality control is supreme, and your design ideas are precious. Keep up the great work Jen, and LOVE having you as an UPTOWNGIRL :-)
