JM: Lisa, when did you get started sewing and creating?

LISA: I learned the VERY basics from my mom and from a simple little sewing class I took as a young girl. Other than that, most of it has been self taught with some help from my mother in law.

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay and do you sell anywhere else besides eBay?

LISA:About 3 1/2 years ago. Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) I do have a website: I'm not set up to sell there yet though. Before eBay, I was a first grade teacher.

JM: Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay?

LISA: I sold some very simple halter tops to start off with. After the first sale I was pretty much hooked.:o) Sorry, I don't have a picture. I think it sold for $12.

JM: Where did come up with your name, Rose Valley Babies?

LISA:Well, I live in an area called Rose Valley and it seemed like a idea to incorporate that into my eBay name, somehow. That's where rose*valley*babies came from.

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

LISA: The PinPalGals It was kind of funny how I got started in this group. I met a girl on eBay who also is a designer. She spotted my user id and figured there was only one Rose she emailed me and asked if I lived in "the" Rose Valley. It turned out we live 5 minutes from each other and our kids go to the same school... small world! We became friends and started a group with another designer. It later turned into the Pinpalgals and the rest is history. :o)

What do you like most about your particular group? The friendship, for sure. I've always been a little hesitant about the whole "group" thing. I'm definitely there for friendship and support. I LOVE my are the greatest!!!

JM: Do you have a favorite item to create?

LISA: This is hard...probably any style of clothing with a shabby, romantic, or vintage style fabric...because that is my favorite look.

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

LISA: I am working on my photography skills right now. They are important to me because I would really like my pictures to have a more professional look. The pictures you see right now were not done by friend Sarah took all of these awesome photos.

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

LISA: Probably Hawaii.

JM: So what other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

LISA: Shopping, spending time with my family and friends.

JM: Anything else you would like to add?

LISA: Thanks so much for taking the time to find out a little more about me! Check out my auctions....I try to list a couple of outfits every week. A big thanks to JM for this awesome opportunity!!
