JM: Misty, when did you get started sewing and creating?

MISTY: I actually can remember making dresses for my dolls not long after I began playing with them. Although it was a wrap and tuck style dress, it was creating! I am completely self taught. The first real dress I made was for my oldest daughter. It was sewn with a needle and thread, and I still have it.

JM: When did you start selling your designs on eBay?

MISTY:I first began selling my desings on ebay in April 2005. I sometimes carry my items in local boutiques. (example, web site, local boutique) Even before I discovered the boutique world on ebay I still 'did ebay'!

JM: Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay?

MISTY: Oh yes! I definitley remember that first dress!! It sold for a whopping $36.00! I was thrilled beyond belief, I check my bidding stats like 100 times!! As of that very moment I was hooked! I called the dress 'Le Fleur' and I have a picture of it. Its nice to look back and see where you started!

JM: How did come up with your name, Southern Grace Boutique?

MISTY:I live in Georgia and love the warm air of romance so many southern things bring. So, that is the southern part. Grace is so many things to me. Most importantly it means having what I don't deserve. It is how I am able to do all that I do. It comes only from the Lord Jesus, and it is precious to me.

JM: Do you belong to any boutique group?

MISTY: I don't belong to any group right now.

JM: Do you have a favorite item to create?

MISTY:Unique and feminie girls sets that really catch your eye! I don't like to see little girls look like boys. I want them to stand out and be beautiful! I also can't stand cookie cutter clothes. I believe what we wear, or dress our children in, speaks volumes about us. I want my designs to be something that a Mom will look at and say "that is what I want my baby to wear!"

JM: If you could learn some new skills, what would they be?

MISTY: I would love to learn to knit. I recently bought some books on the subject so... we'll see! I would love to learn this because I think when used correctly it adds a wonderful element to designs!

JM: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

I would take my husband to Egypt, he has allways wanted to go see the pyramids.

JM: What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

MISTY: I homeschool my kids and truly enjoy it, but in addition to that I love scrapbooking, photography, reading, and learning old skills such as canning, using herbs, natural living, needlework etc.( Not that I have alot of time to do some of this, but when I do, these are some of my other passions. )

JM: Anything else you would like to add?

MISTY: I feel so honored to be featured on JM!! There is so much talent out there, and I was just thrilled to be considered. Thank you!

I want to say that Misty is a wonderful mom, wife, and Christian. Her gift is fantastic. She has always put her family only second to the lord. Her designs are so beautiful. I wish I was a little girl again. Misty you are truly one of a kind.
