1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

I have been sewing since I was 12. Growing up, my mother was always sewing everything you could think of and I learned a lot from her. I started out with my Grandma's sewing machine and here I am ...Who knew??

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I have been selling on Ebay for about 2 years now. I have sold to several high end boutiques and have done some drop shipping for a couple of boutiques as well. I sell to a small boutique called Amelia Bedilia's in Hutchinson Kansas and for a couple of small boutiques in Texas shop place orders with me here and there.

Before ebay I owned a craft business with my mother and two younger sisters and did a lot of free hand painting. I have always had my hands in something creative and have a need to think outside the box. It is a stress reliever for me believe it or not. There is something theraputic in being creative.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

Wow, yes I do. I did a pair of Diva overals that sold for 37.51. I also had listed at the same time a pair of Christmas overalls and they sold for 32.57. Seems like so many stitches ago...and another camera ago. HA!

3. How did you decide upon your name?

I wanted something that covered all ages and of course something catchy and thus Toodee*Frudee*Kids was born. Based on the Tutti Frutti baby food and just did a different take of the spelling to try and be a bit more unique.

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

I am not in a primary design group right now. I am in a FABULOUS small launch group of great friends and great designers called the Gypsies. It is a group made up of designers from alot of different primary groups who come together once a month for a creative launch with guest designers as well. It gives us other outlets to create together with other designers...and another reason to chat. :)

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

I love to make handbags. There are so many different outlets, accessories styles and sizes. I love to make my own patterns and combined fabrics that don't necessarily go together. I love the desing aspect of the clothing, but taking pictures of a moving target...(i.e. my 2 year old) can be one big circus.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

I love fabric in general!! You can never have enough. I tend to steer toward the Moda, Michael Miller, Alexander Henry and Robert Kaufman fabrics. I love all of the new retro takes on the old fabrics. I love to use home decor fabrics for most of my handbags as well. I love the game of finding the fabric. It is definitely an addiction. The best kind to have!

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

I am lucky to have a pretty good size sewing studio at home. I am fairly organized with most of my fabrics and supplies. Now talk to me around Christmas...and that is a whole different story.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

I enjoy working out, shopping, painting, shopping, reading, creating anything and did I mention shopping??? My husband and I are big Oklahoma State fans and spend some of the fall at football games. We definitely forward to the fall. Otherwise I am the chauffer, chef, maid, housekeeper and all around slave to Braxton and Brityn.

Anything else you would like to add?

Ebay is a fabulous outlet for me in the sense that in the last year and a half my son has required a lot of my attention and it is place like Journal Modiste and Ebay that allow all of the mommy's out there to wear so many different hats...and SHOP!
