1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

My mother taught me to sew. When I was about 8 she bought an antique treadle sewing machine for me to learn, which I still have! I have been sewing pretty much much ever since. I also love to knit and crochet, but don't have the opportunity as much lately.

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I started selling my designs about one year ago. Prior to that I sold collectibles, and still enjoy going to auction houses in search of treasures. I currently sell only on eBay, but plan to also sell on VERY SOON!

Life before eBay? That's almost like asking about life before children, I can barely remember! LOL Actually I homeschooled my two oldest children, which is how I found eBay, searching for curriculum.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

Actually, my first outfit was the cowboy horse overalls that are still in my store! LOL! I think they sold for around $70.

3. How did you decide upon your name .

Well, at the time I was selling collectibles, and my intention was to continue selling collectibles in addition to quilts and boutique children's clothing. But, there are only so many hours in the day, and the boutique portion has completely taken over. My long term goal is to open a B&M store that will include boutique clothing, collectibles and quilting fabric, blending all my favorites into one!

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

I'm in "Once Upon a Dream Designs", the Boutique Dreamers, and one of the founding members. What I like the most about our group, is the mutual admiration society that it is! They are an amazing group of designers that never cease to amaze me with their creativity.

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

Hmmm, I'm not sure I have a favorite thing, but I tend to favor using denim and either vintage or vintage inspired fabrics in my designs. I also love simple, but funky retro styles.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers? Why?

I like cotton, because it's practical for kids, it can be tossed in the washer and dryer, etc. I love fabrics by Michael Miller, Moda, Timeless Treasure, Alexander Henry, etc.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

We no longer have a dining room, it is without a doubt a sewing studio! And I seem to be the most productive when I sew in the morning. I wish I was neater, but tend to design it spurts, and fabric starts flying, so then a clean sweep is required when I'm finished. I try not to let it get too crazy in there, or I end up spending too much time looking for things, and less time creating.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

Spending time with my family, of course, going to their sporting events, etc. Also, my husband and I both love to go to antique auctions.

9. Anything else you would like to add?

Well, I'd like to mention that we are adding an accessories "nook" to Camille's Cozy Cottage! I will be soon selling jewelry that my oldest daughter Brittany has designed, and we are both really excited about it!

I'd also like to thank Carrie, emersonsmom, and her beautiful daughters Emma and Madi who so often model my sets.
