1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

Well, I was about 7 years old. My mom used to alter most of my clothes because I was so thin. I was pretty picky about how I wanted my clothes to fit, so I guess she figured it was a good idea for me to do my own alteration. She taught me just about everything I know. My mother is my mentor, and my greatest fan!

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I started back in 2001. I have my own website (Jamarie.com) and I am also a seller in Blossom Street. I was a Quality Engineer prior to doing Ebay.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

Yes I do, it was a gingham and chenille set, my niece Kara modeled it for me. Yes I have a picture of it, I have all the pictures Kara has ever model form me. I believe it sold for $39.00 and I was thrilled!

3. How did you decide upon your name?

Well, my daughter's name is Jamie and I thought I would choose a name that incorporated both of our names, I just didn't quite like the sound of Jamary so I used "ie" instead of a "y"

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

Yes I do, I am a proud member of "Grace-full Designs" is a group of Christian ladies that believe in using the gifts given by God to glorify Him and bless others. My friend Sandy and I started this group and it really has been such a blessing to me. What I like about this group is the fact that we all respect, support and help each other, and we have our faith as a strong foundation.

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

IGosh, this is hard…… I guess what I like to create the most have to be dresses with lots of twirling room and ruffles, don't care much for hats, but they are so darn cute! I love prints with roses and prints with bright colors. I can spend hours and hours at the fabric shop.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

I love prints with roses and prints with bright colors. I can spend hours and hours at the fabric shop.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

When I started, I had the sitting area in our bedroom, I quickly discovered it was way too small to support my fabric addiction, so I kicked the kids out of our game room and covered it into my sewing studio, I think I am outgrowing that too!

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

I love to read the bible and spend quiet time praying, besides that the one thing I love the most is watching my kids play baseball, all 4 play. Springtime is a crazy time in the Mullins' household, if I am not taking them to practice, I am watching at least one game a night and weekends are almost non-existent. But I wouldn't change a thing!

Anything else you would like to add?

First I want to give God the glory for all that He so graciously has blessed me with. I also want to thank my wonderful customers for supporting me and inspiring me. I want to thank my darling models Jamie and Kara (my niece), they make my set come alive.
