1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

I have been creating most of my life and have always had a love for fashion and fabrics but I actually started sewing my own designs about 2 years ago and am pretty much self taught.

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I started off in 1999 selling my daughter's store bought clothes on ebay and two years ago entered the design world of ebay and have been loving it ever since. I have sold in home shows and local boutiques. Oh, and in parking lots and in line at Starbucks LOL. My daughter wears many of my designs and I had a lady actually chase me down in the grocery store parking lot to ask where I got my daughter's embellished overalls, made a sale right at the shopping cart corral.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

Yep, I started off selling name overalls. They were a huge hit and made more than my fair share of name overalls. They sold for $85 and I was hooked from there.

3. How did you decide upon your name?

After having two boys, I finally had a girl and I swore I would never dress her in a plain pair of jeans, everything had to be girly, oh*sew*girly! I thought the play on words for "sew" was cute and catchy.

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

I am currently a member of a fabulous new and up coming group..RUNWAYGIRLS. We are a brand new group with spectacular designers and I am so excited to be at the thresholds of this rising group.

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

I love denim and anything funky! I love to take denim, cut it up, fray it, recreate it and mix it up with other fabrics. In most of my designs, you'll see some denim for sure.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

My absolute favorite fabric designer is Amy Butler. I love her patterns and choice of color combinations and always anticipate her new lines. I also like Alexander Henry and Michael Miller's mod designs. I am crazy for anything retro and unique.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

Just this month we moved into our new home but before, most of my sewing was done at the kitchen table. Now, in my new home, I'm soooo excited to have my very own sewing room all to myself and I don't have to put away my machine every time we had to eat!! I do most of my sewing when at night after all my kids are in bed. I love the quiet time and find it very therapeutic. It is not unusual for me to be up until 4:00am finishing up a project! I can't seem to sleep until it's done LOL.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

Spending time with my family and teaching preschool, which is what I do during the day.
