1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

I began sewing at an early age actually. My grandmother was a wonderful seamstress and attempted to teach me too. I of course did not want any part of that, hehe! It wasn't until I had my own children that I really began to pursue sewing. I just took the knowledge she had given me previously and went from there. So I really owe my grandmother for how far I've come.

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I've been on ebay for about 4 years now, but only last year did I begin selling my designs there. I do custom orders for friends and family but have not branched out to boutique stores yet. Before ebay, well, is there life without ebay? HA!

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

The first outfit I sold on ebay (that was custom made) was actually a hand-painted set I did. I don't recall what it sold for though.

3. How did you decide upon your name?

I chose my name based on this. I wanted something that incorporated a piece of my life, something that was meaningful to me. Growing up, my grandfather (my grandparents raised me, btw) had nicknames for my brother and me. Grasshopper was my brother and I was Rosebud. Everyday when he'd come in from work, he'd pick a rose off the bushes he had planted, come in and pin it in my hair, kiss me on the forehead and say "Hello my Rosebud". I cherished that memory so much, it was only natural I would want to use that.

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

I am currently the owner of the boutique group ROCKS! Boutique. I love having the support of the girls, the fun, the work, and a place to just bounce ideas.

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

I don't really have a favorite, I love everything I create. I feel you have to put your heart into an outfit........ if you don't like it, neither will the buyers. I have a deep love for creating outfits, whether it's for boys or girls! I guess if I had to choose, it would be the little girl's dresses. They are so much fun to "frill" up and just let the creativity flow!

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

I love Michael Miller fabric, chenille and anything retro/mod/funky, or vintage. I love mixing patterns and colors to create a new look. I love the unique fabrics, hehe! There are so many wonderful designers out there, I could never pick just one!

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

I sew mainly at night, after the family has gone to bed. It's quiet and I can be undisturbed and just create. I am usually up til the wee hours of the morning, hehe! And ummm, no, I'm not neat, lol! While I'm sewing, there is usually fabric EVERYWHERE! I do pick up if I know I'm not gonna get to the machine that day.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

I do play piano and love it! I spend most of my time playing with my kids. I love to cook too! Being a stay at home mom also gives me the opportunity to help my grandparents now. They cannot drive and rely on others and I'm more than happy to do so! .

9. Anything else you would like to add?

I just want to thank all my friends, family and most of all my customers for helping live my dream!!
