1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

My mom taught me when I was a teenager. She had a sewing machine for as long as I can remember. When I was growing up she would make me the most adorable outfits. I was born and raised in Europe, and there, most of the people have only a few store bought outfits for each season. Because of her, I had many outfits that were all one of a kind, and I used to be so proud being able to wear something that no one else had. So as soon as I was ready to learn, I was anxious to take on sewing. I was excited to make some of my own outfits and getting compliments from everyone.

Then, when I turned seventeen, we moved to the U.S., I went to college then had some really great jobs, but I was just not happy working for someone else. Then I found ebay, and I saw the amazing outfits that people were making, and thought to myself, "My goodness, I can make that!". Now, I feel so unbelievably fortunate to be able to do what I love and being able to create one of a kind outfits that makes mommies and their daughters feel the same way I used to when my mom made me a special one of a kind creation.

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

One of my good friends introduced me to the boutique world on ebay. I was on the phone with her one night and she was looking for some "boutique" clothing for her girls and out of curiosity I got on ebay just to see what she was buying and why she was so addicted to these clothes. That is when the thought came to me, "my goodness, I can make that!". I called my parents to tell them that I was thinking about taking on sewing again. They were so confident that they surprised me with an early Christmas present....a brand new sewing machine. So that is how Pinkbunny designs was born about ten months ago.

I also sell on "The Shops at Blossom Street". Our grand opening was on August 11th. We always offer specials to our "preferred" customers, so if anyone would like to sign up, it is www.blossomst.com We stock our stores every Wednesday night.

Before ebay....I graduated from University of Florida with a bachelor degree in Business Management. I worked as a sales manager for Burdines-Macy's for four years, and then I became a pharmaceutical sales representative for Eli Lilly and Co. specializing in diabetes until I decided to venture into my own business of owning a British Pub. So I bought, managed, and then two years later sold my very own British Pub. After I sold my own business, I just didn't want to go back to work for someone else. As I was trying to figure out what my next business venture was going to be....then, ebay came along. I'm also in the process of getting my real estate license and planning on doing that part time.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

LOL...yes. It was one of those T-shirt dresses with an easy patchwork skirt attached. I think it sold for around $15.00.

3. How did you decide upon your name?

I started buying on ebay before I was actually selling boutique clothing. Every name I put in got rejected, so I just answered a few questions about my favorite color and favorite animal and Pink123Dog came up. Well, that didn't look so good, so I decided to go with pinkbunny instead.

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

Yes. I'm part of the "Boutique Yayas". I was invited into the group when it was originally formed. I love the closeness of our group and the friendships that we have developed.

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

My favorite would have to be one of a kind vintage style dresses, or I like to call them "princess dresses". I just love the look.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

That's hard to say. If you look into my sewing room, you could tell that I like many different types of fabrics. I do use a lot of Michael Miller and Alexander Henry, but my favorite is Amy Butler. I also love fabrics with any type or color roses.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

Before we moved, I used our dining room table to work on and I used to stack all my fabric into the buffet. Now I have my own room and a closet full of fabrics and chenille. Yes, I'm very organized. I have all my fabric separated into categories, and I have all my sewing supplies, patterns, trims, buttons...etc, in plastic drawer containers. It takes a lot of stress off of me knowing where I can find anything and everything.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

I love movies, and books, and I also love to travel.

9. Anything else you would like to add?

I'm so thankful I can live out the saying "first, find something you love to do then find a way to make money with it. I feel extremely lucky to be able to do what I love.
