1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

I began about 4 years ago. I was a single mom with an adorable daughter that I was dying to dress in unique boutique styles. I designed some outfits and asked my mom to help me sew them. My mother has over 50 years of sewing experience and taught me as we worked on these outfits and it grew into more.

I must have been born to sew because I just can't stop, I love it! It's like my therapy for life!

SFB was born from those first designs because Avery got SO many compliments and I got a ton of requests!

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I started selling seriously on eBay in 2004. I have been selling locally and to high end boutiques in Houston for over 2 years. I do many custom orders for special occasions such as weddings and Christenings also.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

Yes, I remember making a pair of shortalls and a friend sold them for me! I don't even remember how much she made on them!

3. How did you decide upon your name?

Everyone asks me this because I totally sound like a shoe store! Actually, I just love feet! My first logo was a foot that made the "S" in feet but I changed it because people kept calling it Weet Feet Boutique. LOL!

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

Yes, I am blessed to belong to the Boutique YaYas! I asked to join and I was graciously brought in. I love this group because the women are the nicest and most supportive group of women I have met. We also have a lot of fun!

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

Oh wow, I have to pick one? I am so eclectic, I love lots of different styles. I really enjoy making things with a vintage or shabby style, but I also love classic clean lines. I guess you could say that it depends on my mood, I never know until I see the fabric and let it inspire me!

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

Home d├ęcor fabrics such as Bloomcraft, Cyrus Clark, and Robert Kaufmann are always favorites. Then of COURSE, Amy Butler, Michael Miller, and other fun novelties.

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

I do all my sewing in my loft. 99% of the time it's very late (and I mean very late) at night. My work area is small so I have little stacks of fabric and patterns everywhere.

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

Photography, shopping, eBay, church, and reading

9. Anything else you would like to add?

I would like to say "Thank you" to JournalModiste for the awesome website!!!
