1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

As far back as I can remember my grandma and mother were always sewing, grandma would be making matching outfits for me and my sister and my mother would make dolls, a lot of them she would give to the neighbor kids who would stand there and watch these little creations come together. The very first time I actually "created" something was when I was about 3 years old, I guess my grandma wanted to keep me busy so she handed me a piece of fabric, buttons and a needle and thread...I haven't stopped yet!

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

I started selling in September 2002. After searching for fabrics I happened upon these wonderful designs and I
knew ebay was just what I needed! I do have a few local customers that I sew for and I have been doing this for years.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

My first ebay sale was handmade crib bedding, I think it sold for 100.00 and I was so excited! I made many more but decided the clothing was what I wanted to do and it allowed me to get more creative. I think my first clothing sale was a toile and chenille jacket and hat set I sold for 55.00!

3. How did you decide upon your name?

Actually my husband gave it to me, he always jokes that our house is the "Taradome" I guess he thinks I am a bit bossy! He was the one that got me registered and haven't got around to changing it, maybe because it is so fitting!

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

I am not part of a group but I do think that there are some fabulous one out there!

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

That is a hard one, I love making everything! My favorites though are complete ensembles, dress, pants, hats with a matching jacket. Some days I am in the mood for lots of ruffles but I also love the look of a tailored pant set. I guess since I don't have a little girl I just make what I would want her to wear if I did have one.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

I LOVE vintage chenille, my favorite fabric to work with! I also love finding those pretty old southern belle pillowcases and giving them new life in one of my creations. Toiles are also at the top of my list of favorites. There are so made wonderful fabric designers, I love Micheal Miller, all of the Moda prints, Amy Butler, there are just too many. I try to stay out of quilt shops, I could really get myself into trouble!

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

I sew whenever I can, early morning, all day and at night! I am lucky enough to have a sewing room where I keep all my fabric and supplies (my mess) and another room where I take pictures and keep my finished items. Am I neat?? I have the best of intentions when it comes to keeping my room clean, but I am like a crazy women once I get started, fabric flying, thread everywhere, pattern pieces, scraps and pins cover the floor! After each project I tell myself I will be neat, I clean up, organize my fabrics by color and start all over!

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

Mostly just hanging out with the boys, watching TV and having pizza parties.
