1. When did you get started sewing and creating? Who taught you?

I started sewing back when I was 17 years old. I basically taught myself but I also had the help of my aunt, who is an excellent seamstress. My aunt owns a small business and she has all kinds of machines one can dream of and she would always let me use her machines. Whenever I had a question I would go to her for an answer. I started sewing dresses and outfits for myself only. My passion for little kids clothing came when I got pregnant with my daughter. After I made the first outfit I just couldn't stop anymore

2. When did you start selling your designs on eBay? Do you sell anywhere else besides eBay, if so where? (example, web site, local boutique) What did you do before eBay?

S I started selling on eBay in 2002, after being stopped several times to answer where I'd gotten the cute outfit my daughter was wearing. I only sell my designs on eBay. I never sold anything before eBay.

2a. Do you remember the first outfit you sold on eBay. Do you have a picture? What was it and what did it sell for?

My first design sold on eBay was a pair of patriotic overalls. I still have a picture of it. I dont remember exactly how much it sold for but it was over $40.00.

3. How did you decide upon your name?

I have chosen "The Tree House" because it reminds me of a wonderful period in my life my childhood. As a child I loved climbing on trees and even though I have never had a tree house I've always wanted to have one.

4. Do you belong to any boutique group and if so which one? How did you get started in that group? What do you like most about your particular group?

Yes, I belong to the "BOUTIQUE GEMS" (former BDBC). I was invited by one of the members a while ago. What I like most about my group is the friendship we share. All the ladies are awesome!!! They are all so supportive!!! Each one of them has a special talent. For example, some of them are just so funny and make me laugh so hard!!! Some are computer geniuses and come up with AWESOME templates and logos we all can use. Whenever one of us has a question about where to find a certain fabric or trim for example, we just ask the group and the answer will come within minutes. We help each other all the time and that's so great!!!

5. What is your favorite thing to create? (example: vintage style dresses, totes, overalls, etc) Why?

Hmmm! That's a though question because I like to create everything. But I would say little girls outfits. I say that because I have a little girl and I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dressing her up. So I'm always making pretty and girlie outfits for her.

6. What are your favorite types of fabrics or fabric designers?

Another though question ;) I like many types of fabrics but I think chenille is my very favorite!!! As for the designers there's a bunch I like, such as Michael Miller, Alexander Henry, Amy Butler, Robin Pandolph, etc. Not only for the beauty but high quality of their fabrics too. I've yet to purchase fabric designed by any of these designers that's not high quality and quality is my number one priority!

7. Where and when do you do most of your sewing? Are you neat about it or do you have fabric covering the floor!

I have my sewing area at home. I call it "my office". And that's where I do all my sewing. I never put my fabrics on the floor. I am a perfectionist and like organization ;)

8. What other things do you enjoy besides sewing?

Spending time with my family, watching movies with my husband, spending time with my friends, dinning out, shopping (what woman doesn't?), traveling (even though I'm scared of flying), listening to good music (I love romantic songs), etc.
